The tax collector handles the billing of property taxes on more than 3,000 parcels of land in the Town and acts as a collection agency for Oswego County, Town of Granby, special districts (water) and fire district taxes based upon budgets adopted by the respective municipal authorities.

Hours of Operation

There is a drop box at the town hall for taxes that is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Envelopes are available. Please ensure that you are making your check out to Janet Ingersoll, Tax Collector. It is helpful if you include your tax bill number so a receipt can be mailed to you quickly. If you need a receipt, please provide your tax bill.
Taxes may be paid in person at the town hall on the following days:
- MONDAYS from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
- TUESDAYS from 11:00 am - 6:30 pm
- WEDNESDAYS from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
- THURSDAYS from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
- FRIDAYS (CLOSED)
- SATURDAYS (January only) from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- SUNDAY (CLOSED)

Where do I pay my taxes?

PROPERTY TAXES

For tax bills that are due each January, payments are processed by the Town of Granby Tax Collector. For your convenience, there are various ways to pay your bill.

Mail your payment made out to Janet Ingersoll, Tax Collector and mail it to the town hall. Once your payment is processed, a receipt will be mailed to you for your records.
You may pay your taxes online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card (2.45% convenience fee will apply), Visa Debit card ($3.95 flat fee will apply) or by Electronic Check ($1.75 flat fee will apply). Convenience and flat fees are collected by the web service provider, not by the Town of Granby. Click HERE to pay online.
For cash payments, please come to the town hall and buzz in to pay in person.

SCHOOL TAXES

For your tax bills that are due in the Fall, payments are processed by the Tax Collector or Collecting Agency for the school district you own property in.

Please note: The Town of Granby cannot collect your school taxes.

How can I view a tax bill?

Tax bills are mailed out at the end of December. If you have a mortgage with an escrow, you may not receive a tax bill. You can view tax bills by using our online database. Click HERE.
