Although the Dog Control Officer is a part time position, every effort is made to respond to resident concerns in a very timely fashion.

The Dog Control Officer (DCO) works closely with the Town Clerk in insuring that all dogs in the town are licensed as required by law.

Responsibilities

The Dog Control officers pick up stray dogs running loose in the town.  If the owner cannot be located, dogs are taken to the City of Oswego Animal Shelter.
